Samurai Buddhism
Teaching Samurai Buddhism as mandated by the Shogun and Shingen for National Protection & Prosperity
The Tokugawa Shogunate mandated that every Japanese person absolutely must sign up with a Buddhist temple and carry a Buddhist passport to operate -- from weddings to jobs. This birthed Japan's Golden Age where even today Tokyo is the world's biggest metropolis and Kyoto the most admired city. Simlarly, Takeda Shingen's very name means Devotee of Buddha and his title was "Protector of the Buddhist Law". All of the famous Samurai had their own family temples and had various Buddhist names that kept changing throughout their lives in the Samurai Buddhist tradition. We are the world's foremost pioneers of Samurai Buddhism and even represented this unique sect at the world's biggest forums including the Olympics where it helped a record number of Olympic medalists. Samurai Buddhism is the opposite of the Kumbaya Hippy Slop Buddhism known in the West. We promote the martial Buddhist traditions of history's greatest warriors the Samurai of Japan (mirrored by the Mongols, Shaolin and the Hwarang) -- which invokes Gokoku or Protection of the State and Genze Riyaku or Prosperity and Success of the individual. Therefore Samurai Buddhism clarifies that Buddhism is NOT about giving up the world to live in a monastery -- but about fighting the good fight in the real world and being the best you can be in whatever you do. It is a strong, no-nonsense, proud and patriotic Buddhism infused with Bushido and Yamato Damashii but with respect for all Japanese Buddhist sects - as Prince Shotoku had commanded.
